The core values that I live by

I am

KENNETH YOU

Math, Programming, and Robotics Enthusiast.

Committed to the next generation of education, teaching math, coding, and reading to students ages 6 to 15 in our city’s neighbourhoods and libraries.

Passionate about robotics, having worked with different robotics teams over the years, including FLL and FTC, where we won a provincial championship, competed internationally at FLL, and won regional championships at FTC.

Has a desire to explore and eventually pave the frontier for new technologies in AI, Machine Learning, aerospace, and more.

My Specialization

Mathematics

Specializes in competitive mathematics, solving problems about geometry, number theory, and combinatorics. Prepares math contest help guides, presents webinars, tutors and helps students with all kinds of math problems.

Robotics

Build LEGO robots; design robotic autonomy systems, program robots, work with teams, test and practice to achieve success.

Programming

Coded up projects, games, websites, and robots. Write tutorials, teach lessons, and prepare practice materials for students.

Detail Oriented

Think carefully, pay attention to details, and ensure the task is completed perfectly.

System Planning

Holistically envision, design strategies, plan detailed solutions, and then test and improve to ensure smooth communication between different systems.

Collaboration

The successful completion of every project is inseparable from the smooth cooperation of the team.

Led program team and coded robot, coordinated with builders and ensured robot ran autonomously.

Continuing in the 2024-2025 season.

Stanford Daily News

Journalist/Writer

I wrote an article about new AI developments in Stanford’s aerospace and aeronautics labs for the Stanford Daily, the graduate-run news Agency at Stanford.
In the process, I found breaking news regarding technological developments, selected the team to be interviewed, coordinated with them for schedule, sent out interview requests and interviewed several significant individuals specializing in aerospace and Computer Science within the Stanford community.
Over the course of my summer, I did background research on many individuals within the Stanford Aerospace and Computer Science communities and then reached out through personalized emails.
I then engaged in interviews with industry professionals to ensure an accurate reflection of recent developments.
After that, I engage in numerous rounds of writing and editing with Stanford Daily’s lead editors to produce an article that is worthy of being front-page news.

Exoplanet Hunting

Leader/Programmer

I, along with a small team, implemented multiple strategies to interpret luminosity recordings from celestial objects and then trained multiple AI regression and convolution models to analyze and identify these recordings and then make a decision on whether an exoplanet exists in that region of space or not.

Multi-Purpose Auto Vision Detection-ADAS Advanced Driver Assistant System

Creator

I assembled a dynamic vision detection model capable of being used in motor vehicles that can sense cars, traffic lights, pedestrians, and traffic cones. The model receives input from real-time data and returns corresponding bounding boxes overlaid on the data.

Virtual Voice-Activated Assistant that can respond and interact with user’s verbal instruction

Creator

I programmed a Virtual Voice-Activated Assistant that can respond and interact with the user’s verbal instructions. Over the course of several months, I coded an interactive computer application with its source code being Python. I first created an AI model using data from OpenAI’s AI API. I made it so that you can prompt the AI with voice input detected from your microphone using a voice-detection Python AI. I then designed a dynamic visual component using Python GUI that overlays on your computer screen whenever you voice activate it.

Cost-Efficient Modular Storage Unit

Cofounder/Prototyper

Designed an environmentally friendly, cost-efficient modular storage unit with a prototype and analyzed the market to create a profitable business plan.
